Profile: I taught EFL/ESL/ESP in Zambia, Iran and the UK, and then became a teacher trainer at Manchester University. In addition, I have done project/consultancy work in more than 30 countries. Much of this related to ESP and language assessment, and I have worked as consultant to most of the major examinaing boards in the UK (I was chief consultant to Cambridge for CAE 1988-97) and Europe (most recently, the European Language Certificate - TELC), as well as ministries and institutions in various countries.

I took early retirement in 2005 and now work as a freelance consultant.
