Profile: I've worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Ghana, Cyprus, Iran, Singapore and the UK. I'm now retired from full time work but still do some writing, conference presentations and consultancies. My last 9-5 job was as Senior Lecturer at Birmingham University Centre for English Language Studies, teaching on MA TEFL/TESOL and Applied Linguistics programmes, both in-house and distance learning. I am author, with Jane Willis of 'Doing task-based teaching' (OUP 2007) and on my own account of 'Rules, Patterns and Words: Grammar and Lexis in ELT' (CUP 2003). For more details see our website
